Mirsad Türkcan, born on June seventh, nineteen seventy-six, is a distinguished former professional basketball player of Bosniak origin who proudly represented Turkey on the international stage. Standing at an impressive height of six feet nine inches, he excelled in the power forward position, showcasing his remarkable skills and athleticism throughout his career.

Originating from Novi Pazar, SR Serbia, Türkcan made a significant move to Turkey, where he not only pursued his passion for basketball but also acquired Turkish citizenship. This pivotal decision allowed him to join the senior Turkey national team, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey in international basketball.

In nineteen ninety-nine, Türkcan etched his name in history as the first Turkish basketball player to compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA). His tenure in the EuroLeague was equally impressive, where he recorded a total of fifty double-doubles and became one of only three players since the year two thousand to achieve a twenty-point, twenty-rebound game, with an outstanding performance of twenty-seven points and twenty-three rebounds.

Throughout his EuroLeague career, Türkcan led the league in rebounding five times and earned recognition as a three-time All-EuroLeague Team member. Although he was nominated for the EuroLeague 2001–10 All-Decade Team, he did not make the final cut. Nevertheless, his legacy was solidified when he was honored as a EuroLeague Legend in two thousand seventeen.
