Mirza Teletović, born on September seventeenth, nineteen eighty-five, is a distinguished former professional basketball player from Bosnia. He made significant contributions to the sport, both as a player and as a leader, serving as the president of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from two thousand eighteen to two thousand twenty-two.
Teletović began his basketball journey in Bosnia with Sloboda Tuzla before moving to Belgium to play for Oostende. His career flourished during his six-year tenure with Saski Baskonia, where he celebrated two Liga ACB championships and earned a spot on the All-ACB Team in two thousand twelve.
In the National Basketball Association, Teletović showcased his skills over five seasons with the Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns, and Milwaukee Bucks. Standing at six feet nine inches, he played primarily as a power forward and was known for his versatility on the court. Unfortunately, his career was cut short when he announced his retirement on September twenty-seventh, two thousand eighteen, due to a career-ending pulmonary embolism injury.
Throughout his career, Teletović also proudly represented and captained the Bosnia and Herzegovina national basketball team, leaving a lasting legacy in the sport.
