The Miss Maine USA competition serves as the prestigious platform for selecting the state's representative for the renowned Miss USA pageant. Directed by The Clemente Organization, based in Malden, Massachusetts, this competition has a rich history of showcasing the talent and beauty of Maine's women.

Maine has made its mark in the Miss USA pageant, achieving placement nine times. Notably, in 2006, Katee Stearns advanced to the semi-finals, becoming the fifth woman from Maine to do so and the first since 1977. The competition reached new heights in 2010 when Katie Whittier became the first delegate from Maine to secure a spot in the top five, finishing as the 4th runner-up.

Among the participants, five Miss Maine USAs have previously held the title of Miss Maine Teen USA, showcasing their continued dedication to pageantry. Additionally, two of these remarkable women have also competed in the Miss America pageant, further highlighting the diverse opportunities available to contestants.

On May 11, 2025, Shelby Howell from Bangor was crowned Miss Maine USA 2025 at the Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks in Portland. She proudly represented Maine at the Miss USA 2025 competition, continuing the legacy of excellence that the state has established in the world of pageantry.
