Mitiarjuk Nappaaluk

Mitiarjuk Nappaaluk, born in 1931, was a remarkable Inuk author, educator, and sculptor hailing from Kangiqsujuaq in Nunavik, northern Quebec, Canada. She is best known for her groundbreaking work, Sanaaq, which stands as one of the first novels written in the Inuktitut language. This pioneering effort not only showcased her literary talent but also played a crucial role in the preservation and promotion of Inuit culture.
