Moderato, born on July fourteenth, nineteen hundred and two, was a distinguished Brazilian association footballer known for his prowess on the right wing. He began his football journey with EC 14 de Julho in Santana do Livramento before moving to Guarani FC in his hometown. In nineteen twenty-one, he joined Palestra Itália, now recognized as Cruzeiro EC, where he played until nineteen twenty-two.

In nineteen twenty-three, Moderato made a significant move to CR Flamengo, where he would leave an indelible mark. Over the course of his career with Flamengo, he participated in one hundred and forty-seven matches, netting twenty-seven goals. His contributions were pivotal in securing the Championship of Rio de Janeiro twice, in nineteen twenty-five and nineteen twenty-seven, with a memorable winning goal in the decisive match against America FC, despite recovering from an appendix operation.

Moderato's international career with the Brazil national team began on December sixth, nineteen twenty-five, during the South American Championship in Buenos Aires. He played a total of four matches in the tournament, helping Brazil secure a second-place finish. His World Cup debut came in nineteen thirty during the inaugural tournament in Uruguay, where he scored two goals against Bolivia, becoming the second Brazilian to score in World Cup history.

After the World Cup, Moderato returned to his roots, concluding his playing career with Guarani FC in nineteen thirty-two. He achieved runner-up status in the Rio Grande do Sul State Championship in nineteen thirty-one. Following his football career, he transitioned to a successful career as an engineer in Pelotas, where he also engaged with Esportivo Bento Gonçalves and developed a passion for golf.

Moderato passed away in January nineteen eighty-six at the age of eighty-three in Pelotas, leaving behind a legacy as a talented footballer and a respected engineer.
