Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed

Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, widely known as Farmaajo, was born on March 11, 1962. He is a prominent Somali politician and diplomat who has played a significant role in the political landscape of Somalia. His journey in public service includes serving as the Prime Minister from 2010 to 2011, where he laid the groundwork for future governance.

Farmaajo's most notable tenure came when he was elected as the 9th President of Somalia, a position he held from 2017 to 2022. His presidency was marked by a strong commitment to combating corruption and revitalizing the Somali National Army, which were essential components of his broader state-building initiatives.

In addition to his political roles, Farmaajo is the founder and leader of the Nabad iyo Nolol political party, established in 2012. This party has been instrumental in shaping the political discourse in Somalia, advocating for peace and stability in a nation striving for recovery.
