Mohamed Ennaceur, born on March twenty-first, nineteen thirty-four, is a prominent Tunisian lawyer and politician. He is best known for his role as the acting president of Tunisia, a position he held for ninety-one days following the death of President Beji Caid Essebsi on July twenty-fifth, two thousand nineteen. During this transitional period, he oversaw the handover of the presidency to Kais Saied, the victor of the two thousand nineteen Tunisian presidential election on October twenty-third, two thousand nineteen.

Ennaceur has been a significant figure in Tunisian politics since two thousand fourteen, serving as the President of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People and leading the governing Nidaa Tounes party. His political career also includes a tenure as Minister of Social Affairs during the nineteen seventies and eighties under President Habib Bourguiba, and again in two thousand eleven during the transitional governments of Ghannouchi and Essebsi.

In addition to his political achievements, Ennaceur was the founding director of the Tunisian Association of Social Law, which publishes the Revue tunisienne de droit social, and he played a pivotal role in establishing the Festival international de musique symphonique d'El Jem. His election as President of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People on December fourth, two thousand fourteen, was marked by a significant majority, with one hundred seventy-six votes in favor out of two hundred fourteen present members of parliament.
