Mohamed Ghannouchi, born on August eighteenth, nineteen forty-one, is a prominent Tunisian politician who served as the Prime Minister of Tunisia from nineteen ninety-nine until two thousand eleven. His tenure was marked by a technocratic approach, and he was a significant figure in the Tunisian government during the presidency of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.

In the wake of the Tunisian revolution in January two thousand eleven, Ghannouchi briefly assumed the role of President on the fourteenth and fifteenth of January, fulfilling the responsibilities of the office in the absence of President Ben Ali, who had fled the country. Following the declaration of the presidency as vacant by the Constitutional Court on January fifteenth, Ben Ali's term was officially terminated.

After the overthrow of Ben Ali, Ghannouchi continued to serve as Prime Minister for an additional six weeks before resigning. His political journey reflects the complexities of Tunisian governance during a pivotal period in the nation's history.
