Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali, born on March 22, 1969, is a notable Syrian civil servant and politician who made significant contributions to the political landscape of Syria. He served as the prime minister from September 14 to December 10, 2024, during a pivotal time in the country's history.
Al-Jalali was appointed prime minister by Bashar al-Assad following the parliamentary elections of 2024. His tenure marked the end of the Ba'athist regime, as he was the last individual to hold this position under Assad's presidency. Prior to this role, he was the minister of communications and information technology in Wael Nader al-Halqi's second government from August 27, 2014, to July 3, 2016.
Following the fall of the Assad regime on December 8, 2024, al-Jalali remained in Damascus, where he played a crucial role in managing the transfer of power to the new Syrian government. His leadership during this transitional period was instrumental, although he was replaced by Mohammed al-Bashir just two days later.
