Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Mohammad Reza Aref

Mohammad Reza Aref, born on December nineteenth, nineteen fifty-one, is a prominent Iranian engineer, academic, and reformist politician. He currently serves as the eighth and first vice president of Iran, a position he has held since two thousand twenty-four under President Masoud Pezeshkian. Aref's political journey includes a previous term as first vice president from two thousand one to two thousand five under President Mohammad Khatami.

In addition to his vice presidential roles, Aref has been a significant figure in Iranian politics as a member of the Expediency Discernment Council since two thousand two. He has also led the parliamentary reformists' Hope fraction, representing Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat, and Eslamshahr. His leadership extends to heading the Reformists' Supreme Council for Policymaking since its inception in two thousand fifteen.

Aref's career in public service includes serving as the Minister of Information and Communications Technology and heading the Management and Planning Organization during Khatami's first cabinet. He was also a member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution until two thousand twenty-one. An accomplished electrical engineer, Aref is a professor at both the University of Tehran and Sharif University of Technology.

In two thousand thirteen, he was a candidate in the presidential election but chose to withdraw his candidacy to enhance the reformist camp's chances of success. His commitment to reform was evident during the mass protests against the regime in two thousand twenty-six, when he tendered his resignation, which was ultimately not accepted by President Pezeshkian.
