Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, born on July fifteenth, nineteen forty-nine, is a prominent Emirati politician and royal, currently serving as the ruler of Dubai, as well as the vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates. He ascended to these significant roles in two thousand six, following the passing of his brother, Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Under Mohammed's visionary leadership, Dubai has transformed into a global city, marked by the establishment of several government-owned enterprises, including the Emirates airline, DP World, and the Jumeirah Group. His tenure has been characterized by ambitious projects such as the development of the Palm Islands and the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel, alongside the Burj Khalifa, which has held the title of the tallest building in the world since two thousand ten.
As the absolute ruler of Dubai and the prime minister of the UAE, a position he was appointed to by the president, Mohammed has also made a name for himself in the equestrian world. He is the founder of the Maktoum family-owned Godolphin stable and the owner of Darley, a thoroughbred breeding operation that spans six countries. In two thousand twelve, he showcased his equestrian skills by riding the horse Madji Du Pont for one hundred sixty kilometers to win the FEI World Endurance Championship.
However, his reign has not been without controversy. Mohammed has faced allegations of coercive and abusive behavior towards his family, including claims of kidnapping and imprisonment concerning one of his daughters, which have sparked significant public discourse.
