Mohsen Rezaee, born on September first, nineteen fifty-four, is a prominent Iranian politician and military leader known for his extensive involvement in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). As a principlist politician, he is affiliated with the Resistance Front of Islamic Iran and currently serves as a member of the Expediency Discernment Council. Additionally, he holds the position of secretary of the Supreme Council for Economic Coordination and the Iranian government's Economic Committee.

Rezaee's political career has been marked by significant roles, including his tenure as the secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council from nineteen ninety-seven to twenty twenty-one. He also served as Vice President of Iran for Economic Affairs from twenty twenty-one to twenty twenty-three. His military leadership is notable, having commanded the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from nineteen eighty-one to nineteen ninety-seven.

Before the Iranian Revolution, Rezaee was involved with the Islamist guerrilla group Mansouroun and later joined the Mojahedin of the Islamic Revolution Organization. His political aspirations have seen him dubbed a 'perennial candidate,' as he has run for the presidency multiple times. In the two thousand nine elections, he finished third with one point seven percent of the vote, trailing behind Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Mir-Hossein Mousavi.

Rezaee continued to pursue the presidency, receiving three million eight hundred eighty-four thousand four hundred twelve votes in the two thousand thirteen elections, ranking fourth. In the two thousand twenty-one election, he was the runner-up to Ebrahim Raisi, garnering three point four million votes, slightly less than his previous tally.
