Monokate

Kateryna Anatoliivna Pavlenko, known professionally as Monokate, was born on August 10, 1988, in Ukraine. She has made a significant mark in the music industry as a singer, composer, and folklorist. Monokate is celebrated for her role as the lead vocalist of the electro-folk band Go_A, which gained international attention when they were set to represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with their captivating song 'Solovey'. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the contest was canceled, and the band later represented Ukraine in 2021 with their hit 'Shum'.

In addition to her musical achievements, Monokate has been recognized for her influence in the cultural landscape of Ukraine. In June 2021, she was honored by Focus magazine as one of the top 100 most influential women in Ukraine, securing an impressive tenth place. This recognition highlights her impact not only as an artist but also as a cultural figure.

Monokate's journey in music continues as she competes in Vidbir, aiming to represent Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with her song 'Tut (song)', stylized as 'TYT'. In this competition, she finished in sixth place out of ten, showcasing her determination and talent in the ever-evolving music scene.
