Mordechai Vanunu

Mordechai Vanunu, born on October thirteenth, nineteen fifty-four, is an Israeli former nuclear technician and peace activist renowned for his courageous stance against weapons of mass destruction. In nineteen eighty-six, he made headlines by revealing critical details about Israel's nuclear weapons program to the British press, a move that would change the course of his life.

Following his revelations, Vanunu was lured from Britain to Italy by the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. There, he was drugged and abducted, ultimately being transported back to Israel where he faced a trial conducted behind closed doors. His conviction led to an eighteen-year prison sentence, with more than eleven years spent in solitary confinement, despite the absence of such restrictions in Israel's penal code.
