Morgan Frost

Morgan Frost, born on May 14, 1999, is a talented Canadian professional ice hockey player currently playing as a centre for the Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League (NHL). His journey in hockey began at a young age, inspired by attending Toronto Maple Leafs games with his father, Andy, and sister, Marley. This early exposure ignited a passion for the sport that would shape his future.

Frost faced challenges early in his career, notably being cut from his local minor ice hockey team at the age of thirteen due to his size. However, he found an opportunity with the Barrie Jr. Colts in the Eastern AAA Hockey League, where he honed his skills over two seasons. His talent was soon recognized, leading to his selection by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the Ontario Hockey League. At just sixteen, he stepped into a significant role on the team, especially after Jared McCann's move to the NHL opened up a spot.

Initially, Frost struggled to find his footing as a rookie, focusing heavily on goal-scoring. Under the guidance of coach Drew Bannister, he evolved into a well-rounded two-way forward, achieving remarkable success with back-to-back seasons of over one hundred points. His impressive performance earned him a spot on Team Canada for the 2019 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, marking a significant milestone in his career.

In the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Frost was selected in the first round, twenty-seventh overall, by the Philadelphia Flyers, who had traded Brayden Schenn to acquire that pick. He signed with the Flyers in August of the same year. Despite facing setbacks, including a groin injury that hampered his training camp performance, he made a strong impact in the AHL with the Lehigh Phantoms, scoring thirteen goals and twenty-nine points in forty-one games during the 2019-20 season. However, his NHL debut was challenging, and a season-ending shoulder injury in the 2020-21 season further complicated his journey.
