Morgan Ortagus

Morgan Ortagus, born on July tenth, nineteen eighty-two, is a distinguished American diplomat and intelligence analyst. With a robust background in political advisory roles, she currently serves as a senior policy adviser at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations. A member of the Republican Party, Ortagus has held significant positions, including deputy special presidential envoy to the Middle East in twenty twenty-five and spokesperson for the United States Department of State from twenty nineteen to twenty twenty-one.

Her career in government commenced as a deputy attaché and intelligence analyst at the United States Department of the Treasury, followed by her role as a public affairs officer at USAID. Ortagus also contributed to national security discussions as a contributor at Fox News before her appointment as State Department spokesperson. Since two thousand fourteen, she has served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve.

During her tenure at the State Department, Ortagus was notably critical of Iran and China, particularly regarding the Chinese Communist Party's attempts to shift blame for the COVID-19 pandemic onto the United States. She played a pivotal role in the Abraham Accords, showcasing her influence in international diplomacy.

In addition to her governmental roles, Ortagus is the founder of POLARIS National Security and co-chair of the Women's Democracy Network at the International Republican Institute. She also serves on the board of advisors for the China Center at the Hudson Institute. In twenty twenty-two, she ran for Tennessee's fifth congressional district but faced disqualification from the Tennessee Republican Party, despite receiving an endorsement from former President Donald Trump.
