Morris Fisher, born on May 4, 1890, was a distinguished American sport shooter and a dedicated shooting instructor in the United States Marine Corps. His expertise in marksmanship not only shaped his career but also contributed significantly to the training of future shooters.
Fisher's remarkable talent was showcased on the international stage when he competed in the Summer Olympics of 1920 and 1924. During these prestigious events, he excelled in the 300 to 800 meter rifle competitions, ultimately securing five gold medals, a testament to his exceptional skill and determination.
After the 1924 Olympics, Fisher concluded his Olympic journey, as shooting events were not included in the 1928 Games. It wasn't until the 1948 Olympics that long-distance rifle events returned, by which time Fisher had long since retired from both competitive shooting and military service.
