Morten Wieghorst

Morten Wieghorst, born on February twenty-fifth, nineteen seventy-one, is a distinguished Danish association football manager and former player. Currently serving as the assistant manager of the Denmark national football team, Wieghorst has made significant contributions to Danish football, including his tenure as head coach of the Denmark national under-21 team and FC Nordsjælland in the Danish Superliga, where he led the club to victory in the Danish Cup in two consecutive years, two thousand ten and two thousand eleven.

Wieghorst's playing career began with Lyngby Boldklub, where he achieved notable success, winning the Danish Cup in nineteen ninety and the Superliga title in nineteen ninety-two. His journey then took him abroad, where he spent a decade in Scottish football, playing for Dundee and Celtic. During his time at Celtic, he celebrated winning the Scottish football championship in nineteen ninety-eight. He concluded his playing days at Brøndby IF, where he added another Superliga title and two Danish Cup trophies to his accolades in two thousand five.

On the international stage, Wieghorst represented the Denmark national team from nineteen ninety-four to two thousand four, earning thirty caps and scoring three goals.
