Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Moshe Katsav

Moshe Katsav, born on December fifth, nineteen forty-five, is a notable figure in Israeli politics, having served as the President of Israel from two thousand to two thousand seven. His tenure was marked by significant milestones, including being the first Mizrahi Jew to hold the presidency and the second non-Ashkenazi president, following Yitzhak Navon.

Before ascending to the presidency, Katsav was a prominent member of the Likud party and held various ministerial positions within the Israeli Knesset. His political career, however, took a dramatic turn when allegations of serious misconduct emerged, including accusations of rape and sexual harassment involving female subordinates.

In two thousand seven, amidst growing controversy, Katsav resigned from the presidency as part of a plea bargain. He later rejected this deal, asserting his innocence and seeking to clear his name in court. In a landmark ruling on December thirtieth, two thousand ten, he was convicted of two counts of rape, obstruction of justice, and other related charges.

On March twenty-second, two thousand eleven, Katsav was sentenced to seven years in prison, a decision that was upheld by the Supreme Court of Israel on November tenth of the same year. He began serving his sentence at Maasiyahu Prison in Ramla on December seventh, two thousand eleven, and was released under restrictive conditions on December twenty-first, two thousand sixteen, after serving five years.
