Muammar Z.A., born on June fourteenth, nineteen fifty-four, is a distinguished Qāriʾ and Hafiz from Indonesia, celebrated both nationally and internationally for his exceptional talent in Quran recitation. His journey began at a tender age, when he first showcased his remarkable abilities by winning a local children's Quran competition in his hometown of Pemalang in nineteen sixty-two, at just seven years old.
Throughout the late nineteen seventies and early nineteen eighties, Muammar's prowess in Quran recitation earned him numerous accolades. He achieved first place in the Quran Reciting Competition of Jogjakarta Province in nineteen sixty-seven, followed by victories in nineteen seventy-two and nineteen seventy-three at the national level, representing Jogjakarta. His international acclaim grew as he won prestigious competitions in nineteen seventy-nine and nineteen eighty-six, leading to invitations to recite in esteemed venues such as the Istana Nurul Iman in Brunei and the National Palace of Malaysia.
Muammar's reputation as a master reciter is further solidified by his remarkable breath capacity, which has been noted as one of the longest in the world. His talents have taken him beyond Indonesia, with invitations to recite in various countries, including a notable performance in Pakistan at Jamia Binoria in two thousand nine and in Turkey during the IGMG Aileler Günü in two thousand four.
