Murielle Ahouré-Demps

Murielle Ahouré-Demps, born on August twenty-third, nineteen eighty-seven, is a distinguished Ivorian sprinter renowned for her exceptional performances in the 60 meters, 100 meters, and 200 meters events. Her athletic prowess was showcased at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow, where she earned double silver medals, finishing second in both the 100 meters and 200 meters.

In addition to her World Championship accolades, Ahouré made history at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships by clinching the gold medal in the 60 meters, where she also set a new African record with an impressive time of six point ninety-seven seconds, marking her as the sixth fastest woman ever in this discipline.

Her journey in athletics began to gain momentum when she became the 2009 NCAA Indoor Champion at the 200 meters while representing the University of Miami. Ahouré's remarkable talent was further highlighted at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Istanbul, where she secured a silver medal in the 60 meters event.

Ahouré's personal bests include a time of ten point seventy-eight seconds in the 100 meters, achieved in Montverde, USA, in two thousand sixteen, and twenty-two point twenty-four seconds in the 200 meters, recorded in Monaco in two thousand thirteen. She also holds African records in both the 60 meters and 200 meters indoor events.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she showcased her competitive spirit by finishing sixth in the 200 meters and seventh in the 100 meters. Notably, in February two thousand thirteen, she became the eighth fastest woman ever by running the 60 meters in under seven seconds for the first time, clocking in at six point ninety-nine seconds.
