Mutaz Barsham

Mutaz Barsham, born on June twenty-fourth, nineteen ninety-one, is a distinguished Qatari high jumper and a prominent figure in the world of athletics. Renowned for his exceptional talent, he has made a significant mark in the sport, being recognized as the former Olympic Champion and World Champion. With a personal best jump of two point forty-three meters, he stands as the second highest jumper of all time.

Barsham's illustrious career is highlighted by his remarkable achievements at the World Championships, where he clinched gold medals in London in two thousand seventeen, Doha in two thousand nineteen, and Eugene in two thousand twenty-two. His Olympic journey is equally impressive, having originally secured a full set of medals: bronze at the London two thousand twelve Summer Olympics, silver at the Rio de Janeiro two thousand sixteen Summer Olympics, and a shared gold at the Tokyo two thousand twenty Olympics. In a twist of fate, his bronze from the London Olympics was upgraded to silver in two thousand twenty-one, following the disqualification of the original gold medalist.

In addition to his Olympic success, Barsham has also excelled at the Asian level, being crowned the Asian Indoor and World Junior champion in two thousand ten.
