Muttiah Muralitharan

Muttiah Muralitharan, born on April seventeenth, nineteen seventy-two, is a celebrated Sri Lankan cricket coach, businessman, and former professional cricketer. Renowned for his exceptional skills, he boasts an impressive average of over six wickets per Test match, solidifying his status as one of the greatest players in cricket history. Muralitharan holds the unique distinction of being the only bowler to have taken eight hundred Test wickets and more than five hundred thirty One Day International (ODI) wickets, making him the highest wicket-taker in international cricket as of two thousand twenty-six.

His illustrious career includes being a pivotal member of the Sri Lankan team that triumphed in the nineteen ninety-six Cricket World Cup and sharing the title with India in the two thousand two ICC Champions Trophy. However, Muralitharan's journey was not without challenges; his bowling action faced scrutiny due to the hyperextension of his congenitally bent arm. Despite this, he was cleared by the International Cricket Council after thorough biomechanical analysis in nineteen ninety-six and again in nineteen ninety-nine.

Muralitharan's dominance in the sport is further highlighted by his record tenure as the number one Test bowler in the International Cricket Council's rankings, a remarkable one thousand seven hundred eleven days across two hundred fourteen Test matches.
