Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Nambi Narayanan

Nambi Narayanan, born on December 12, 1941, is a distinguished Indian aerospace scientist and a prominent figure in the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). His expertise as a military flight engineer and chemical engineer led him to become a senior official at ISRO, where he notably headed the cryogenics division. His contributions to the field of aerospace have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the prestigious Padma Bhushan, awarded to him in March 2019.

In 1994, Narayanan faced a tumultuous period when he was arrested on charges of espionage. However, these allegations were later deemed baseless by the Central Bureau of Investigation in April 1996. The Supreme Court of India subsequently dismissed all charges against him, ruling that the Government of Kerala could not continue its investigation into the matter.

In recognition of the injustices he faced, a Supreme Court bench, led by then Chief Justice Dipak Misra, awarded Narayanan a compensation of fifty lakh rupees in 2018. Following this, the Government of Kerala granted him additional compensation of approximately one crore and thirty lakh rupees in 2019, acknowledging the impact of the wrongful accusations on his life.

Narayanan's remarkable journey has also inspired the film 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,' which was released in July 2022. The film, directed by and starring R. Madhavan, brings to light the extraordinary life and challenges faced by this eminent scientist.
