Namig Abdullayev

Namig Abdullayev, born on January fourth, nineteen seventy-one, is a distinguished retired Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler. His remarkable career is highlighted by his triumph at the two thousand Summer Olympics, where he secured a gold medal in the fifty-five kilogram weight class. Abdullayev's prowess on the mat is further evidenced by his impressive collection of accolades, including three gold medals at European championships and three silver medals at world championships.

A three-time Olympian, Abdullayev first showcased his talent at the nineteen ninety-six Summer Olympics, where he earned a silver medal in the fifty-two kilogram category. His Olympic journey continued in two thousand, culminating in his gold medal victory. Although he competed again at the two thousand four Summer Olympics, he faced an early elimination.
