Nancy Charest was a prominent Canadian politician and lawyer, born on November twenty-eighth, nineteen fifty-nine. She made her mark in the political landscape of Quebec as a member of the Quebec Liberal Party, representing the electoral district of Matane in the National Assembly from two thousand three until two thousand seven.
During her tenure, Charest was known for her dedication to her constituents. However, her political career faced challenges, culminating in a defeat by Pascal Bérubé of the Parti Québécois in the two thousand seven provincial election. Undeterred, she continued her political journey by running as the Liberal Party of Canada's candidate for the district of Haute-Gaspésie—La Mitis—Matane—Matapédia in the two thousand eight federal election.
In that election, although she lost to the incumbent Jean-Yves Roy of the Bloc Québécois, Charest achieved a notable milestone by securing the highest vote percentage of any non-winning Liberal candidate in Quebec outside of the Montreal area.
Tragically, Nancy Charest's life came to an untimely end on March first, two thousand fourteen, when she was found deceased along a road in her hometown of Matane, Quebec. The cause of her death was determined to be hypothermia, resulting from exposure while she was heavily intoxicated. She was fifty-four years old at the time of her passing.
