Nancy Kerrigan

Nancy Kerrigan, born on October 13, 1969, is a celebrated American former figure skater and film director. Renowned for her grace and athleticism, Kerrigan achieved remarkable success in her skating career, securing bronze medals at the 1991 World Championships and the 1992 Winter Olympics. She also earned silver medals at the 1992 World Championships and the 1994 Winter Olympics, alongside winning the prestigious US National Figure Skating Championship in 1993.

Her career took a dramatic turn on January 6, 1994, when she was attacked by an assailant wielding a police baton, an act orchestrated by Jeff Gillooly, the then-husband of her rival, Tonya Harding. Despite the injury to her landing knee, Kerrigan demonstrated remarkable resilience and made a swift recovery. Both athletes competed in the 1994 Winter Olympics, where Kerrigan's performance culminated in a silver medal, amidst a highly publicized rivalry with gold medalist Oksana Baiul.

Following the Olympics, Kerrigan's career flourished as she toured with various ice skating troupes, including Champions on Ice and Broadway on Ice. Her journey in the spotlight continued when she participated as a contestant on the popular television show Dancing with the Stars in 2017.
