Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Nash the Slash

James Jeffrey "Jeff" Plewman, known to the world as Nash the Slash, was born on March 26, 1948. A Canadian musician and multi-instrumentalist, he captivated audiences with his unique sound, primarily featuring the electric violin and mandolin. His musical journey began in earnest in 1975, and he quickly made a name for himself as a solo artist.

In 1976, Nash founded the progressive rock band FM, which released its debut album, Black Noise, in 1977. However, shortly after its release, he departed from the band, returning to his solo career in 1978. Interestingly, it was only after his exit that the album gained significant traction, eventually earning a gold record award.

Nash's musical style was eclectic, ranging from instrumental pieces to rock and pop with vocals. He was known for composing and performing soundtrack music for silent films, presenting these works live in theaters. Additionally, he collaborated with surrealist painter Robert Vanderhorst, providing an audiovisual experience in performances in both 1978 and 2004.

Notably, Nash the Slash had a distinctive approach to his music, famously refusing to include guitars in any of his solo albums and singles. This unique stance was exemplified when he turned down an offer from Pink Floyd's guitarist David Gilmour to contribute a guitar track to his album, Children of the Night.
