Natalia Gavrilița, born on September twenty-first, nineteen seventy-seven, is a prominent Moldovan economist and politician. She made history by serving as the Prime Minister of Moldova from two thousand twenty-one until her resignation in February two thousand twenty-three, a decision prompted by her inability to pass a crucial reform package.
Her political journey began when she was first proposed for the prime ministerial role by Maia Sandu in February two thousand twenty-one. However, her initial bid was thwarted by the PSRM-Șor parliamentary majority. Undeterred, Gavrilița was nominated again in August two thousand twenty-one, following a successful parliamentary election, and this time her appointment was approved along with her cabinet.
In addition to her role as Prime Minister, Gavrilița was elected to the Parliament of Moldova in the two thousand twenty-one parliamentary election, representing the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS). Her political experience also includes a tenure as the finance minister from June to November two thousand nineteen in Sandu's cabinet.
