Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman, born Natalie Hershlag on June 9, 1981, in Jerusalem, is a celebrated actress, film producer, and director with dual Israeli and American citizenship. She began her acting career at the tender age of twelve, captivating audiences with her role as a young protégée of a hitman in the film Léon: The Professional (1994). Raised on Long Island, New York, Portman made her Broadway debut in The Diary of Anne Frank (1997), which set the stage for her rise to international fame.

Portman's breakthrough came with her portrayal of Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, starting with Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999). While pursuing her education at Harvard University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, she continued to balance her studies with acting, appearing in the subsequent Star Wars films and performing in a revival of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull in 2001.

Her career took a significant turn in 2004 when she received a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Closer.
