Natasha Kaiser-Brown

Natasha Kaiser-Brown, born on May 14, 1967, in Des Moines, Iowa, is a distinguished American sprinter renowned for her specialization in the 400 meter run. A celebrated athlete, she has transitioned into a successful track and field coach, currently serving as the head coach at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, since 2022.

During her high school years at Des Moines Roosevelt, Kaiser-Brown showcased her exceptional talent by becoming a nine-time state champion and setting records in the 100 meter and sprint medley relay events, which remained unbroken until the 2018 track season. Her collegiate career with the Missouri Tigers from 1985 to 1989 was equally impressive, where she clinched five individual conference titles and earned NCAA All-American honors in the 400 meter dash six times. In 1989, she was recognized as the Big 8 Female Athlete of the Year and became the Indoor National Champion in the 400 meter dash with a remarkable collegiate record time of fifty-one point ninety-two seconds, a record that still stands.

Kaiser-Brown's international accolades include a fourth-place finish in the 400 meter run at the 1991 Pan American Games, where she also secured a gold medal in the 4 × 400 meter relay. Her Olympic journey saw her winning a silver medal in the relay at the 1992 Summer Olympics alongside teammates Gwen Torrence, Jearl Miles, and Rochelle Stevens. In 1993, she added to her medal collection with a silver in the relay at the World Indoor Championships and two additional medals at the World Championships. She triumphed at the 1994 Nationals in the 400 meter event and was a proud member of the USA Olympic team during the 1996 Atlanta Games.

With a personal best time of fifty point seventeen seconds achieved in 1993, Kaiser-Brown's legacy in athletics is firmly established. Off the track, she is married to Brian Brown, with whom she has coached at Drake University. Together, they have a daughter, Elle Brown, who is making her mark as a basketball player at the University of Missouri.
