Her debut poetry collection, Do Not Enter My Soul in Your Shoes, was published in two thousand thirteen and earned her the prestigious Prize of the Society of Francophone Writers of America. Following this success, her second collection, Manifeste Assi, was released in two thousand fourteen, making a notable debut at the Étonnants Voyageurs festival.
In two thousand sixteen, Fontaine was honored as a guest at the Rimouski Book Fair, sharing the stage with esteemed author Deni Ellis Béchard. That same year, she contributed to the National Film Board of Canada's #Legacies150 project, a photo-essay series celebrating the country's sesquicentennial.
