Nathan East

Nathan East, born on December eighth, nineteen fifty-five, is a distinguished American bassist, jazz musician, guitarist, and cellist. With a remarkable career spanning decades, he has established himself as one of the most recorded bass players in music history, boasting over two thousand recordings to his name.

A proud alumnus of the University of California, San Diego, East earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in music in nineteen seventy-eight. His educational background laid the foundation for a prolific career that has seen him collaborate with an impressive roster of artists, including legends such as Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder.

As a founding member of the contemporary jazz quartet Fourplay, East has not only contributed to the group's success but has also co-written and performed songs with a diverse array of musicians. His collaborations extend to icons like Bobby Womack, Joe Satriani, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Phil Collins, Toto, Kenny Loggins, Daft Punk, Chick Corea, and Herbie Hancock, showcasing his versatility across genres.
