Nathan Oystrick, born on December 17, 1982, is a distinguished Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. His career in the National Hockey League (NHL) saw him don the jerseys of the Atlanta Thrashers, Anaheim Ducks, and St. Louis Blues. Oystrick's journey to the NHL began when he was drafted by the Thrashers in the seventh round, being the 198th overall pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Throughout his playing career, Oystrick showcased his skills on the ice, contributing to his teams with both defensive prowess and offensive support. His time in the NHL allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the game, which he later translated into a coaching career.
In July 2018, Oystrick took on the role of head coach for the Humboldt Broncos, a position that marked his transition from player to mentor. However, his tenure was short-lived, as he resigned less than six months later without providing a public explanation.
