Navdeep Bains

Navdeep Bains, born on June sixteenth, nineteen seventy-seven, is a prominent Canadian politician and a distinguished figure in the fields of academia and finance. He served as the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry from two thousand fifteen to two thousand twenty-one, representing the Liberal Party in the House of Commons for the riding of Mississauga—Malton. His political career began earlier when he represented Mississauga—Brampton South from two thousand four to two thousand eleven.

During his tenure as Minister, Bains was instrumental in shaping the economic landscape of Canada. He oversaw the government's economic development and corporate affairs, focusing on enhancing productivity and improving the quality of life through innovative research and development policies.

In January two thousand twenty-one, Bains made the surprising decision to retire from politics. Shortly thereafter, he transitioned to the private sector, joining CIBC as Vice-Chair of Global Investment Banking in September of the same year. His career took another significant turn in May two thousand twenty-three when he assumed the role of Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Rogers Communications, a leading telecommunications provider in Canada.
