Nazanin Afshin-Jam

Nazanin Afshin-Jam, born on April eleventh, nineteen seventy-nine, is a multifaceted Iranian-Canadian known for her impactful work as a human rights activist, author, and public speaker. She gained international recognition when she was crowned Miss World Canada in two thousand three, a title that propelled her into the spotlight and allowed her to advocate for important social issues.

Emigrating to Canada with her family in nineteen eighty-one, Nazanin has dedicated her life to championing the rights of children and fighting against injustices. She is the president and co-founder of Stop Child Executions, an organization that seeks to end the practice of executing minors, and she also founded The Nazanin Foundation, which focuses on humanitarian efforts.

In addition to her activism, Nazanin is a talented musician and singer, using her artistic talents to raise awareness about human rights issues. Her marriage to Peter MacKay, a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, further highlights her connection to public service and advocacy.
