Neal Morse, born on August second, nineteen sixty, is a renowned American composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee. He first gained prominence in the early nineties when he co-founded the progressive rock band Spock's Beard alongside his brother Alan. Their debut album achieved moderate success, establishing them as a notable act in the progressive rock scene.
In nineteen ninety-nine, Morse expanded his musical horizons by joining forces with Mike Portnoy, co-founder of Dream Theater, along with Roine Stolt of the Flower Kings and Pete Trewavas from Marillion to create the supergroup Transatlantic. This collaboration further showcased his versatility and creativity as a musician.
A pivotal moment in Morse's life occurred in two thousand two when he experienced a spiritual awakening and became a born-again Christian. This transformation led him to leave Spock's Beard and embark on a solo career focused on Christian rock, during which he released numerous progressive rock concept albums that reflect his newfound faith. Despite this shift, he continued to collaborate with Transatlantic and formed several new bands with Portnoy, including Yellow Matter Custard, Flying Colors, and the Neal Morse Band.
