Nebojša Pavković

Nebojša Pavković, born on April 10, 1946, is a notable figure in military history, having served as a general in the Serbian army. His career reached a significant milestone when he was appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Yugoslavia, a position he held from February 2000 until June 2002.

Prior to this role, Pavković was the Commander of the Third Army of the Armed Forces of Serbia during the tumultuous Kosovo War, serving from December 1998 to February 2000. His leadership during this critical period was marked by intense conflict and strategic military operations.

However, Pavković's legacy is marred by controversy. In 2009, he was convicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) for war crimes committed during the Kosovo War. This conviction resulted in a sentence of twenty-two years in prison, highlighting the complex and often contentious nature of military leadership in times of war.
