Neven Mimica

Neven Mimica, born on October twelfth, nineteen fifty-three, is a distinguished Croatian politician and diplomat. He has been serving as the European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development since November first, two thousand fourteen, as part of the Juncker Commission. His appointment marked a significant milestone as he became the first European Union Commissioner from Croatia following the country's accession to the EU.

Before his prominent role in the European Union, Mimica held various governmental positions in Croatia. He was the third Minister of European Integration from two thousand one to two thousand three, serving under the leadership of Prime Minister Ivica Račan in both his first and second cabinets. His contributions during this period were pivotal in shaping Croatia's European integration efforts.

In two thousand eleven, Mimica was appointed Deputy Prime Minister in Zoran Milanović's cabinet, a role he held until he transitioned to the European Union Commissioner position in two thousand thirteen. His extensive experience in government and commitment to public service have established him as a key figure in Croatian and European politics.
