Nicky Jam

Nick Rivera Caminero, known to the world as Nicky Jam, was born on March 17, 1981, in Lawrence, Massachusetts. With a Dominican mother and a Puerto Rican father, Nicky's family relocated to Puerto Rico when he was just ten years old. It was in this vibrant musical landscape that he began his journey into music, recording his first EP, ...Distinto a los demás, at the age of fourteen. His early career took off when he caught the attention of Daddy Yankee, leading to the formation of the duo Los Cangris, which thrived from the late 1990s until their split in 2004.

Following the breakup, Nicky Jam faced significant challenges, including a decline in his career, legal issues, and struggles with substance abuse. However, a pivotal move to Medellín, Colombia, marked a turning point in his life. There, he reinvented his sound, shifting towards a more melodic style that resonated with audiences. His resurgence began with the release of popular singles like "Voy a Beber" and "Travesuras" in 2014, which laid the groundwork for his later successes.

Nicky's career reached new heights with the release of the hit single "El Perdón" in 2015 and his acclaimed 2017 album, Fénix. This album featured several chart-topping tracks, including "Hasta el Amanecer" and "El Amante." In 2019, he continued to build on his success with the album Íntimo, which received both critical and commercial acclaim. Beyond music, Nicky Jam has also ventured into acting, appearing in films such as XXX: Return of Xander Cage and Bad Boys for Life, and he starred in and executive produced the Netflix series Nicky Jam: El Ganador.
