Nicola Zingaretti

Nicola Zingaretti, born on October eleventh, nineteen sixty-five, is a distinguished Italian politician known for his significant contributions to the political landscape of Italy. He served as the President of Lazio from March two thousand thirteen until November two thousand twenty-two, marking a notable tenure as the longest-serving individual in this role. His leadership was characterized by a commitment to social democracy and progressive policies, making him a prominent figure within the left-wing of the Democratic Party.

During the nineteen nineties, Zingaretti emerged as a key youth leader in Europe, taking on the role of National Secretary of the Left Youth, the youth-wing of the Democratic Party of the Left. His influence extended internationally as he served as President of the International Union of Socialist Youth. In two thousand four, he transitioned to a significant role in the European Parliament, representing the centre-left coalition known as The Olive Tree.

Before his presidency in Lazio, Zingaretti held the position of President of the Province of Rome from two thousand eight to two thousand twelve.
