Nicolai Ghiaurov, born on September thirteenth, nineteen twenty-nine, was a celebrated Bulgarian opera singer renowned for his exceptional talent as one of the leading basses of the postwar era. In nineteen fifty-six, Ghiaurov married the talented Bulgarian pianist Zlatina Mishakova, marking the beginning of a personal and professional partnership. Later, in nineteen seventy-eight, he wed the illustrious Italian soprano Mirella Freni. The couple frequently graced the stage together, enchanting audiences with their remarkable performances.
