Nicolas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc

Nicolas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc, born on the first of December in the year fifteen eighty, was a remarkable French savant whose contributions spanned various fields including astronomy, archaeology, philosophy, botany, numismatics, and natural history. Known simply as Peiresc, or by the Latinized version of his name, Peirescius, he was a pivotal figure in the scientific community of his time.
