Nigel Godrich

Nigel Godrich, born on February twenty-eighth, nineteen seventy-one, is a distinguished English record producer, audio engineer, and musician. His career took off as the house engineer at RAK Studios in London, where he honed his skills under the guidance of renowned producer John Leckie. It was during this formative period that he first collaborated with the iconic band Radiohead, engineering their critically acclaimed second album, The Bends, in nineteen ninety-five.

Godrich's partnership with Radiohead blossomed when they entrusted him with the production of their groundbreaking album, OK Computer, released in nineteen ninety-seven. This project not only garnered immense commercial success but also positioned Godrich as a sought-after producer among major artists. He has since produced all of Radiohead's albums, as well as numerous projects with band members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood.

In addition to his work with Radiohead, Godrich has collaborated with a diverse array of artists, including Travis, Beck, Paul McCartney, U2, and R.E.M. His contributions to the music industry have been recognized with accolades such as the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Non-Classical Album for Radiohead's Hail to the Thief in two thousand three.

Beyond production, Godrich is also a member of the bands Atoms for Peace, alongside Thom Yorke, and Ultraísta. In two thousand six, he launched the innovative music web series From the Basement, showcasing live performances from various artists. Notably, he co-composed the score for the film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World with Beck in two thousand ten, further demonstrating his versatility and creativity in the music realm.
