Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Nodar Kumaritashvili

Nodar Kumaritashvili was a talented Georgian luge athlete born on November twenty-fifth, nineteen eighty-eight. He began his journey in the sport at the young age of thirteen, inspired by a family legacy steeped in luge. His grandfather was instrumental in introducing the sport to Soviet Georgia, and both his father and uncle were competitors, with the latter eventually becoming the head of the Georgian Luge Federation.

In the 2008–09 season, Kumaritashvili made his mark by competing in the Luge World Cup, showcasing his skills on an international stage. His dedication to the sport was paralleled by his academic pursuits; he graduated from the Georgian Technical University in two thousand nine with a degree in economics.

Tragically, Kumaritashvili's promising career was cut short when he suffered a fatal crash during a training run for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, coinciding with the opening ceremony of the Games. His untimely death marked him as the fourth athlete to lose their life during preparations for a Winter Olympics and the eighth to die as a result of Olympic competition or practice at an Olympic venue.
