Nolan Arenado

Nolan Arenado, born on April 16, 1991, in Newport Beach, California, is a distinguished American professional baseball third baseman currently playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Major League Baseball (MLB). Renowned for his exceptional defensive skills, Arenado is often hailed as one of the greatest defensive third basemen in the history of the sport. He made his MLB debut with the Colorado Rockies in 2013, where he quickly established himself as a formidable player, winning the Rawlings Gold Glove Award in each of his first ten seasons—a feat unmatched by any infielder.

After a successful tenure with the Rockies, Arenado was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals before the 2021 season. There, he formed a celebrated infield partnership with Paul Goldschmidt, both of whom were finalists for the National League MVP Award in 2022. In January 2026, he transitioned to the Diamondbacks, marking the second trade of his career.

Arenado's accolades extend beyond his defensive prowess. He is an eight-time MLB All-Star and has garnered numerous awards, including ten Gold Gloves, four Fielding Bible Awards, and six Platinum Gloves. Offensively, he is a five-time Silver Slugger Award winner and has led the league in home runs and runs batted in (RBI) multiple times, currently holding the record for the most RBIs among all major leaguers since the start of the 2015 season.

During his minor league career, Arenado was a two-time All-Star Futures Game selection and led the minors in RBI in 2011 with one hundred fifty-five over one hundred sixty-three games. He made history in 2016 by becoming the youngest player in Rockies franchise history to reach one hundred home runs. Notably, he has hit for the cycle twice, achieving this rare feat on June 18, 2017, and again on July 1, 2022, with the latter ending in a dramatic walk-off home run.

In addition to his impressive MLB career, Arenado has represented both the United States and Puerto Rico in international competitions. He played a pivotal role in helping Team USA secure their first World Baseball Classic gold medal in 2017 and earned a silver medal in 2023. For the upcoming 2026 tournament, he is set to represent Puerto Rico.
