Nora Ikstena

Nora Ikstena, born on October fifteenth, nineteen sixty-nine, is a prominent Latvian writer and cultural manager whose contributions to literature and culture are widely recognized. Hailing from the vibrant city of Riga, she pursued her passion for language and literature by studying Latvian philology at the University of Latvia.

Her academic journey took her to New York City, where she furthered her studies, immersing herself in a diverse cultural landscape that would later influence her work. Upon returning to Latvia, Ikstena dedicated herself to the establishment of the Latvian Literature Centre, playing a pivotal role in promoting and nurturing the literary arts in her homeland.
