Nuno Espírito Santo

Nuno Herlander Simões Espírito Santo, born on January twenty-fifth, nineteen seventy-four, is a distinguished Portuguese football manager and former player, recognized for his role as a goalkeeper. Currently, he serves as the head coach of Premier League club West Ham United, showcasing his extensive experience in both playing and coaching at high levels.

Espírito Santo's playing career began in Spain, where he made a significant impact over five years with three different teams. He later returned to Portugal to represent FC Porto and also had a professional stint in Russia. Notably, he was part of the Portuguese squad during UEFA Euro two thousand eight, although he did not earn a cap for the national team.

Transitioning into coaching, Espírito Santo started as an assistant at the Greek club Panathinaikos before taking the reins as a head coach in two thousand twelve. His leadership at Rio Ave led the team to both domestic cup finals in two thousand fourteen. He subsequently managed clubs in Spain's La Liga, including Valencia, and returned to Porto before taking charge of Wolverhampton Wanderers for four successful years.

In two thousand twenty-one, he became the manager of Tottenham Hotspur but was relieved of his duties after just four months.
