Nuno Gonçalves

Nuno Gonçalves, born in the year 1425, emerged as a prominent figure in the realm of 15th-century Portuguese art. Renowned for his exceptional skills as a painter and portraitist, he left an indelible mark on the artistic landscape of his time.

From the year 1450 until 1471, Gonçalves served as the court painter to Afonso V of Portugal. This prestigious position allowed him to showcase his talent and creativity, further solidifying his reputation as one of the most accomplished painters of his era.
