Nycke Groot, born on May fourth, nineteen eighty-eight, is a distinguished Dutch handball player and coach. Over her illustrious career, she has represented the Netherlands in three World Women's Handball Championships, achieving remarkable success with a silver medal in Denmark in two thousand fifteen and a bronze in Germany in two thousand seventeen.
Groot's journey with the Dutch national team began fourteen years before her retirement announcement in January two thousand nineteen, a decision made to concentrate on her club career. However, her passion for the sport remained strong, leading her to return to the international stage in two thousand twenty-one, where she participated in the Tokyo Olympic Games.
In addition to her playing career, Groot transitioned into coaching, and in November two thousand twenty-five, she took on the role of assistant coach for the Danish U18 national team. Her contributions to handball continue to inspire many, as she balances her experience as a player with her new responsibilities as a coach.
